City Parks
Antioch’s hometown feel is nowhere quite as evident as it is in the city’s nine parks which include: Almondridge Park, Fairview Park, Antioch City Park, Antioch Community Park, Williamson Ranch Park, Sunny Ridge Park, Hillcrest Park, Sixth Street Park and Chichibu Park.
Antioch Municipal Marina
Located on the south side of the San Joaquin River and east of the San Francisco Bay, the Antioch Marina is one of the newest facilities in the San Francisco Bay area for power and sail boats. Members and guests may access the 310 berths available in this modern, attractive location just three miles west of the Antioch Bridge.
Nick Rodriguez Community Center
This city-oriented facility is open to residents and their guests to utilize the 200-seat theatre and multi-purpose room for business and social functions.
Antioch Dunes National Wildlife Refuge
The Antioch Dunes National Wildlife Refuge, located in Contra Costa County along the southern shore of the San Joaquin River, is the first refuge of its kind established in the United States. Established in 1980, Antioch Dunes National Wildlife Refuge provides protection for endangered plants and insects with particular emphasis on three endangered species: Lange's Metalmark butterfly, the Antioch Dunes evening primrose and the Contra Costa wallflower.
Bear Valley Ski Resort
Winter sports await novices and pros alike at the Bear Valley Ski Resort. Conveniently located on scenic Highway 4, Bear Valley sits between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite for easy access from the East Bay area. Come for a weekend or stay for the season in one of the many area lodges in this family-friendly venue.
Professional Baseball Teams
Spend a day at the ballpark with the Oakland A’s professional baseball team which calls McAfee Stadium it home. The ballpark is just five minutes from downtown Oakland and is accessible via many transportation options. The San Francisco Giants play in their magnificent home stadium, SBC Park which is also easily accessible by many public transportation choices.
Professional Football Teams
National Football League teams, the Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49’ers, are always popular recreational activities in the Antioch and East Bay area. The Oakland Raiders play at McAfee Coliseum in Oakland and the San Francisco 49’ers are at home at Monster Park in San Francisco.
Roddy Ranch Golf Club
The San Francisco Bay area’s newest and finest golf course, the Roddy Ranch Golf Club was designed on 2,000 acres, once part of a working cattle ranch. On a clear day, golfers can see the Sierra Nevada and nearby Mt. Diablo from the 235-acre links-style course.
